Mercedes think about U.S. potential for its new pickup |
Mercedes-Benz Vans has built up its first pickup, a Nissan-based model to be sold in South America and Europe, yet has so far shied far from propelling it in the U.S. since clients there have generally favored full-sized vehicles.
Be that as it may, a current move in the U.S. back towards moderate sized trucks was empowering, Mornhinweg said at a news meeting in Stuttgart on Friday.
"In the previous year the average sized truck showcase has returned a bit. General Motors is propelling an average sized truck. We are watching improvements intently, and we will take a choice at the proper time," Mornhinweg said.
Another creation site in the U.S. was probably going to be considered, he said.
The X class will impart underpinnings to the Nissan NP300/Navara and Renault Alaskan. It will be worked by Nissan in Spain beginning this year and by Renault in Argentina in 2018. The pickup is the most recent item in a mechanical partnership amongst Daimler and Renault-Nissan.
Asked where Mercedes may assemble the pick-ups available to be purchased in the United States, Mornhinweg said that its present generation limit in Argentina was probably not going to be adequate to serve the U.S. showcase.
